Rick Horgan

Remote Sensing Specialist

Rick is a veteran of the U.S. Navy where he began his distinguished career as a specialist in the use of magnetometry, side-scan sonar, and sub-bottom profiling systems. Following his service in the navy Rick began to perform remote sensing investigations for government agencies, and ocean engineering firm and founded his own remote-sensing services corporation, Sonographics Inc., in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Rick has worked in the field with archaeologist Bob Baer on projects that include the S.S. Copenhagen shipwreck and the discovery of important sunken cultural resources in the Florida Keys, National Marine Sanctuary in the Kirby Rose Admiralty Arrest Area. Rick has also located space capsules for NASA, and sunken ships and aircraft for the United States Navy, and United States Coast Guard.

Captain Robert Mayne

Chief Executive Officer / Director

Capt. Mayne holds a 100-ton Masters License from U.S. Coast Guard and has over twenty five years-experience in shipwreck salvage and archaeological exploration. Since 1977 Capt. Mayne has also held a multi-engine aircraft pilots license. From 1996 to 2009 he was a Project Manager for North Caribbean Research (NCR), an archaeological recovery company holding research and exploration permits from the government of the Dominican Republic. While working  for NCR Capt. Mayne was instrumental in the recovery of experimental and rare nineteenth century cannon (carron guns) that were discovered near the small town of Buen Hombre on the North coast of the Dominican Republic.

Captain John Mayne

​John Mayne has worked for over 18 years in the marine industry. Twelve years were spent as Captain, Engineer and Diver aboard RV Aqua Quest in the exploration, research and recovery field domestically and abroad. Additional time was spent as Captain/Engineer aboard a 92′ Whale Watch Vessel in Bar Harbor, Maine. In Hawaii John was a technician at Captain Nemo’s Dive Shop, and crew aboard the Sea Smoke a 58′ Whale Watching Catamaran. John holds a USCG 100 ton N/C Masters License with Aux Sail and Towing endorsement, Merchant Marine Documentation, PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor, PADI MEDIC First Aid Instructor, and NICET Certification.
